U.S. stocks mixed as yields rise after jobs report

NEW YORK
U.S. stocks were mixed and little changed on Friday, as investors
reacted to a rise bond yields following news of healthy jobs growth in
June.

Economic Report: Labor market stays strong with 132,000 new jobs

WASHINGTON
The U.S. economy continued to add jobs at a healthy pace in June, with
nonfarm payrolls rising by 132,000, the Labor Department reported
Friday.

U.S. stocks were mixed on Thursday, with crude oil prices topping $72 a
barrel and rising bond yields offsetting strong economic data and a $26
billion deal to buy Hilton Hotels Corp.

Hotel shares jump in aftermath of Blackstone's deal for Hilton

Shares of hotel operators soared early Thursday, playing off the $26
billion buyout announced for Hilton Hotel Corp. -- and the possibility
that there may be more high-profile acquisitions to come in the
hospitality sector.

WASHINGTON
Employment in the U.S. private sector grew by 150,000 in June, the
fastest rate in seven months, according to the ADP employment report
released Thursday.

European Central Bank holds key rate at 4%

LONDON
The European Central Bank kept its key interest rate at 4% on Thursday,
but the central bank hinted of future rate hikes in response to
continued growth in Germany, Italy and other European countries.

Dubai International buys 3.12% stake in Airbus-owner EADS

LONDON
The Dubai government's investment fund, Dubai International Capital, on
Thursday became one of the largest shareholders in Airbus parent EADS,
buying a 3.12% stake in the European aerospace and defense giant.

General Motors Corp. on Tuesday posted a 21.3% plunge in June U.S. light
vehicle sales, placing the blame on a planned move away from rental car
sales as well as a tough industry climate and aggressive promotions by
rivals.

U.S. stocks rallied on Monday, the start of the second half, catapulted
by relief over a drop in Treasury yields, data showing unexpected
strength in the nation's manufacturing sector and merger news, including
a $49 billion takeover of Canadian telecom carrier BCE.

Bond Report: Treasury yields close at more than three-week low

Treasury prices closed higher Monday and yields retreated to three-week
lows as investors overlooked accelerated U.S. manufacturing to focus on
trouble in the subprime mortgage market and the possibility of terrorist
activity.

Research In Motion continues rally in face of iPhone competition
