BID, ASSET TALK SPURS FURTHER GAINS FOR BP
Speculation that BP will be sold in parts or a whole give a further
lift to the embattled oil giant's shares Monday as the company says
that the cost of cleaning up the Gulf of Mexico oil spill reaches $3.5
billion.

MONDAY'S BIGGEST GAINING AND DECLINING STOCKS
Stocks expected to move significantly in trading on Monday include BP,
Hewitt, Playboy, Tuesday Morning and Weyerhaeuser.

U.S. STOCKS SLIDE ON EARNINGS JITTERS
U.S. stocks slip Monday, with materials stocks sliding after weak
Chinese import data, and as investors traded cautiously ahead of the
start of second-quarter earnings season.

EUROPEAN SHARES ADVANCE AS BP SHARES CLIMB
European shares trade mixed, with the Stoxx Europe 600 mildly lower
but regional benchmarks showing better resilience. BP is back in the
spotlight, its shares gaining in London.

CRUDE REVERSES LOWER, FALLS BELOW $76
Crude futures reverse early gains, turning lower as energy traders
keep an eye on second-quarter corporate earnings kicking off this
week.
