Confidence drops for second-straight month
U.S. consumers doubt that the much-touted economic recovery is under
way, according to the latest report on consumer confidence released by
the Conference Board.
U.S. HOME PRICES RISE IN AUGUST, CASE-SHILLER SAYS
The market value of U.S. homes in 20 major cities rise by 1.2% in
August compared with July, the fourth monthly increase in a row,
according to the Case-Shiller home price index.
SEC TO HEIGHTEN SCRUTINY OF TRADING SYSTEMS
The Securities and Exchange Commission will look into the practices of
some exchanges that allow favored firms to locate their computers
inside the exchange data centers to speed up trading times,
Commissioner Mary Schapiro says.
