U.S. stocks fall sharply on earnings, credit markets concerns

NEW YORK
Stocks declined Friday, as investor enthusiasm waned in the face of
renewed worries about subprime mortgage, coupled with earnings
disappointments from the likes of Google Inc. and Caterpillar Inc.

Google shares off 6% as results miss view

SAN FRANCISCO
Google Inc. saw its share price drop more than 6% Friday morning after
the company's second-quarter earnings came in slightly below Wall
Street's estimates, thanks to higher expenses.
