Oracle profit rises 23% on new software sales
SAN FRANCISCO
Oracle Corp. on Tuesday reported fiscal fourth-quarter profit rose 23%
from a year ago as the software giant recorded increased sales of new
software contracts and said it was gaining market share in key areas
from some of its top rivals.
NEW YORK
U.S. stocks finished a touch lower after a volatile session Tuesday, as
a slightly better-than-expected report on housing and deal news couldn't
offset concerns about interest rates, the subprime mortgage market and
hedge fund woes.
AT&T, Apple set price for iPhone plans
WASHINGTON
AT&T Inc. and Apple Inc. unveiled prices Tuesday for iPhone service,
which would start at $59.99 a month and include unlimited e-mail and
Internet access.
