U.S. stocks fall amid yen, subprime jitters

NEW YORK
U.S. stocks were lower on Friday, sending the Dow Jones Industrial
Average towards its worst week since April 2005, with the Japanese yen's
rally against the dollar and more bad news for mortgage lenders fueling
the same anxiety that has sent stocks sliding all week.
