Global markets tumble anew as yen extends rally

NEW YORK
Global markets tumbled anew Monday on concerns about the unwinding of
the yen carry trade as the Japanese currency extended its rally against
major rivals, sending Asian stock markets down sharply.

Emerging Markets Report: Russia leads emerging markets decline

NEW YORK
Russian stocks fell sharply once again on Monday, weighed down by
declines in commodities and Asian stocks, with most emerging markets --
including the other BRIC heavyweights India, China and Brazil --
remaining under heavy selling pressure.

The Ratings Game: New Century said to be facing bankruptcy, possible
liquidation

NEW YORK
Several analysts agreed Monday that New Century Financial Corp., one of
the nation's largest subprime mortgage lenders, likely faces liquidation
or bankruptcy following revelations that it's under criminal
investigation and in violation of debt covenants with several lenders.
