U.S. stocks seesaw in tentative trade; Research In Motion rallies

NEW YORK -- U.S. stocks traded back and forth across the flatline
Friday as investors digested a number of economic reports, but Research
In Motion rallied after the maker of the BlackBerry device posted strong
earnings and an upbeat profit outlook.

Economic Report: Core consumer inflation rising at fastest pace in 11
years

WASHINGTON -- U.S. core consumer price inflation hit an 11-year high in
August as household incomes and spending rose at the slowest pace this
year, the Commerce Department reported Friday.
