U.S. stocks drop along with views of recovery

U.S. STOCKS DROP ALONG WITH VIEWS OF RECOVERY
Stocks deepen their decline, derailing a seven-day climb for the Dow
industrials, as economic data illustrate a slowing recovery. The
reports dim enthusiasm over strong earnings from financial powerhouse
J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.

CHINA ECONOMY SLOWS, ON COURSE FOR 'SOFT-LANDING'
China reports a slowdown in second-quarter gross domestic product
growth, as well as in a number of other economic indicators for June,
indicating the nation's rapid expansion is beginning to cool as
Beijing withdraws some expansionary policies.

CHINA'S DOUBLE-DIGIT GROWTH MAY END FOR A WHILE
China's 10.3% economic growth during the second quarter is likely the
last time the nation will post a double-digit expansion for at least a
year, analysts at Citigroup say.

CHINA'S AGBANK RISES AND FALLS IN SHANGHAI DEBUT
Shares of Agricultural Bank of China open 2.2% higher in their trading
debut on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, but then quickly pare some of
their initial gains to end with a mere 0.8% gain.

CHINESE STEEL MILLS SUFFER SLUMPING DEMAND
Chinese steel producers have a demand problem, and some analysts say
they see little relief in sight, even if prices for iron ore ease.
