Stocks fall after see-sawing on mixed results

STOCKS FALL AFTER SEE-SAWING ON MIXED RESULTS
U.S. stocks on Wednesday lurched between gains and losses as investors awaited comments from Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke and weighed mixed results from household names including Coca-Cola Co. and Apple Inc. 

DOLLAR MOSTLY HIGHER, EURO SLIPS AHEAD OF BERNANKE
The U.S. dollar advances versus the euro and other major currencies as investors await congressional testimony later in the day by U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke. 

MINERAL EXTRACTORS LEAD SHARP GAINS IN EUROPE
European shares rise on Wednesday, helped by another day of gains for commodity-sector firms and earnings from technology companies.

STEEL MAKERS FRONT BROAD GAINS IN ASIA
Most Asian markets advance steel stocks rally on news China is aiming to consolidate the local industry, while Japanese exporters shrink on the yen's strength against major currencies.
