BP has cut away the riser from its ruptured well in the Gulf of
Mexico, an "important milestone" but only a first step toward
corralling the oil spill, its CEO said.l

The twin brother of the man blamed for one of the worst gun
massacres in UK history was among 12 people killed before the
gunman took his own life, police say.
