Gold hits new record above $1,100

Gold futures barrel to a new record high above $1,100 an ounce, as news that
the U.S. unemployment rate topped 10.2% in October boost expectations the
Federal Reserve will keep interest rates near zero well into next year,
pressuring the dollar.

EARLY GAINS VANISH AS U.S. STOCK INDEXES PULL BACK

U.S. stocks took another dip into negative territory on Friday as investors
mulled October's rise in the unemployment rate to a 26-year high.

British Airways and Hannover Re manage to gain after reporting earnings.

OBAMA TO SIGN EXTENSION OF JOBLESS BENEFITS

President Barack Obama will sign a bill that extends jobless benefits and also
extends a tax credit for home buyers, the White House says.
