Berkshire buys Burlington Northern for $44 bln

Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway says it's spending $44 billion to buy out
railroad firm Burlington Northern Santa Fe, sealing the biggest acquisition in
the company's history.

BLACK & DECKER SOARS ON STANLEY WORKS DEAL

Shares of Black & Decker Corp. jumped 23% in premarket trading Tuesday, a day
after news that the tool maker will be acquired by Stanley Works in a $4.5
billion all-stock deal.

TUESDAY'S BIGGEST GAINING AND DECLINING STOCKS

Black & Decker, Burlington Northern Santa Fe and UBS are all making notable
moves in the U.S. stock market.
