Airline stocks edge up with the wider market
Airline stocks edge slightly higher with the wider market, and following
financial results from Continental and AirTran Holdings.
BOEING SWINGS TO A THIRD-QUARTER LOSS
Aerospace giant Boeing Co. swings to a third-quarter loss and prunes its
forecast for the year, due to delays in its 787 Dreamliner and 747-8
freighter jet programs.
BAA SELLS GATWICK FOR $2.5 BILLION
U.K. airports operator BAA on reaches a pact to sell London's Gatwick
Airport for 1.5 billion pounds ($2.5 billion).
CONTINENTAL HAS SMALLER LOSS; AIRTRAN HITS PROFIT
Lower fuel bills help offset a general decline in passenger revenue for
Continental and AirTran.
DOLLAR DROPS TO 14-MONTH LOW VS. EURO
