Techs edge higher, led by Yahoo, eBay
The tech sector trades slightly higher, powered by gains scored by
Yahoo and eBay.

GOLD FUTURES TRADE FRACTIONALLY LOWER
The pullback in gold futures carries into a second session, with the
September and December contracts retreating modestly from the

NEW JOBLESS CLAIMS FALL 26,000 TO 550,000
The number of people filing for state unemployment benefits for the
first time falls 26,000 to a seasonally adjusted 550,000 last week,
the lowest since mid-July, the U.S. Labor Department reports.
JULY'S TRADE GAP WIDENS SHARPLY ON FOREIGN AUTOS
The U.S. trade deficit shows a sharp widening for July, as foreign
automakers capitalized on the government's cash-for-clunkers program,
Commerce Department data indicate.
