Bernanke reappointed for second term

President Obama makes if official, announcing that he is reappointing Ben
Bernanke for a second four-year term as chairman of the Federal Reserve.

BERNANKE REAPPOINTMENT LIKELY SAFEST PATH

Whatever controversy that news of another Bernanke term might bring,
it will be nothing compared to firestorm that would have resulted if
Obama passed him over.

GLOBAL MARKETS UNFAZED BY BERNANKE REAPPOINTMENT

The reappointment of Ben Bernanke to a second term as Fed chief doesn't come as
a surprise to global financial markets, leaving the focus on the central
