Regulator mulls limits on commodities trading
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission said Tuesday it plans to hold
hearings in July and August on whether it should apply position limits
to speculators in oil and other energy futures.
SPECULATION CURBS A VICTORY FOR THE MARKETS
For all of the hype surrounding the Obama administration's plan for
reforming the financial-services industry, it's a move by the
Commodities Futures Trading Commission -- potentially reining in
rampant speculation in energy futures --that could have the most
significant effect.
