U.S. stocks to take cue from earnings reports

After a run-up of a much as 40% since early March, U.S. stocks have
traded sideways of late as investors brace for the coming onslaught of
second-quarter
results in the hopes that Corporate America will signal better times ahead.
What companies say in updating their forecasts will figure prominently in
investors' fortunes.

ANGLO AMERICAN IN TALKS WITH CHINALCO?

London-based mining giant Anglo American is in talks to sell a major
investment stake to Chinalco, according to a British media report,
although at least one
executive is quoted separately as saying no such deal is planned.
