Energy: The new war on the Suez Canal threatens Egypt and the world

Egypt last week arrested 25 alleged spies belonging to the
Lebanon-based militia Hezbollah, suspecting that the ring was out to
sabotage shipping through the Suez Canal. Considering that some 7.5%
of the entire world's maritime trade, including most westbound oil
shipments from the Gulf, crosses the Suez Canal, its security is more
than just Egypt's business. It's everybody's.
