Tech Stocks: Ciena's warning, job losses lead tech sector down at close

Technology stocks ended up putting in a
disappointing performance Thursday, with most of the sector closing
lower afternetworking equipment maker Ciena Corp. reported a
fourth-quarter loss and the
latest jobless claims figures added to pressure to the market.
