U.S. stocks mixed as techs fall ahead of earnings
NEW YORK
U.S. stocks turned mixed on Monday, as investors scaled back positions
in the technology sector, one of the winning areas of the market over
the past few weeks, after a profit-warning from Lexmark International
Group Inc. dampened sentiment.
Earnings Outlook: Second-quarter earnings look slimmer; Alcoa to tee off

SAN FRANCISCO
Profits at the largest U.S. companies likely increased at a slower clip
in the second quarter as rising interest rates and drags from autos and
housing kept a lid on growth. But an unlikely mix of industrial
heavyweights and tech firms are nevertheless expected to shine.
