U.S. stocks stay in rally mode after tame CPI

NEW YORK
U.S. stocks were higher on Friday, extending the prior day's rally and
again sending the Dow Jones Industrial Average into record territory, as
investors cheered a big drop in consumer price inflation that fueled
hopes the Federal Reserve now has room to cut interest rates next year.

Economic Report: Consumer prices flat in November

WASHINGTON

U.S. consumer prices were unchanged in November, as lower energy and car
prices offset increases in costs for homeownership and medical care, the
Labor Department reported Friday.
